Kjemsåsen Alpine Centre
Information i English
Kjemsåsen Alpine Centre is located about 8 km east of Mosjøen, Norway. We have facilities for downhill skiing, snowboarding, etc.. We have one main lift, 900 meters long, and one top lift 450 meters long. We have several slopes, both for experts and beginners. We have a snowboard / ski park with rails and jumps, and we have a childrens lift specially suited for beginners.
The alpine centre is located from 280 to 550 meter above sea level. We have natural snow, normally the season is lasting from Christmas to Easter. Don't be fooled by the conditions in Mosjøen city. When it rains in the city, it can be snowing in Kjemsåsen.
The alpine centre are owned and runned by Mosjøen Slalåmklubb, a local alpine skiing sports club, open for everyone. The alpine centre are runned on a non-profit basis with a lot of help from many volunteers.
Opening times
In the normal winter season:
Tuesdays and Wedendays: 17:30 - 21:00
Saturdays and Sundays: 11:00 - 16:00
At Christmas / New Year, Easter and winter holidays (one week in February/March),
the centre will be open every day at daytime and closed in the evening.
Be aware of the snow and weather conditions, if it is too bad, we are closing. Check this site for updated information, or contact us.
Prices
Whole day:
Children 130 kroner (only main lift in use)
Children 150 kroner (both main lift and top lift in use)
Adult 160 kroner (only main lift in use)
Adult 200 kroner (both main lift and top lift in use)
Child lift: 20 kroner for a single person / 50,- kroner for the whole family
Half day (after 13:30) / evening:
Children 105 kroner (only main lift in use)
Children 120 kroner (both main lift and top lift in use)
Adult 130 kroner (only main lift in use)
Adult 150 kroner (both main lift and top lift in use)
Whole season:
Adult / children: 2000,- kroner
(We have family offers)
Be aware that we have no terminal for credit cards, only cash payment.
To find us
From the centre at Mosjøen, follow the main road E6 southwards to Trondheim. After 1-2 km turn left when you see a sign marked Sjåmoen / Skisenter. Follow the road upwards, and follow the signs to Sjåmoen. After about 8 km, keep your eyes open, you are driving right through the alpine center. Show on map
Equipment rental
For users of the lift, we are offering free rental of new and used equipment; skis, boots and sticks. We have equipment both for children and adults, but be aware that the equipment is used, and may be not the latest models (we have not completed our collection yet). Also, because of free rental, we are not allways able to give you help to adjust the equipment.
